I first got involved with Turning Point when my friend and I decided to start a Club America chapter at our school a week after Charlie Kirk’s passing. It felt like more than just starting a club. On a campus known for its large liberal population, it was important for me to find a community in which I wouldn’t need to censor myself and with whom I could learn to articulate my ideas and beliefs.
I soon realized that there are plenty of students who love our country and are searching for a movement just like this one. Our chapter has since grown to over 100 students in membership, many of them now making a difference through working at the Texas Capitol, equipping themselves to lead at the Chapter Leadership Summit, serving in our campus’s student government, and, of course, continuing to have conversations with our peers about why we do what we do.

I met a man who was confident he was already registered to vote. During our conversation, we encouraged him to check his registration status one more time since he had recently moved to a new address. To his surprise, he discovered he was no longer properly registered.
We were able to help him update his registration right there on the spot, ensuring his voice would be heard in the next election. Moments like that remind me why this initiative matters. Sometimes people don't need convincing to participate in our Republic; they simply need someone to help them navigate the process.
